Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, IV certification Must-Have: IV start skills and labor & delivery experience EPIC experience Description: Schedule may float to a unit with similar acuity. Required to float to different units as needed. Must have a minimum of 2 years of postpartum experience. BLS and IV certification are required. Experience in IV start and labor & delivery is essential. EPIC experience is preferred. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments. Conducting patient assessments. Educating patients and families on postpartum care. Understanding and implementing newborn care guidelines. Must be proficient in telemetry interpretation. Must pass an EKG exam prior to start. The unit provides family-centered care to mothers and infants. This is a 40 bed inpatient postpartum unit. Interdisciplinary support includes various health professionals. Patient population includes postpartum patients and newborns. Familiarity with managing postpartum complications is required. Ability to collaborate with healthcare teams is essential.
